Our Staff
Rev. Dr. Matthew Ash - Pastor
Pastor Matt comes to our congregation with several years of experience in youth ministry and interests in church growth and development of new ministries.
A Marshall University graduate in Computer Science and Software Development, he received the call to ministry while counseling students at the WV Baptist Camp at Cowen. He received his MDiv and DMin degrees from Palmer Seminary.
In addition, Pastor Matt directs Jr. High 2 camp at Cowen, and has a passion for empowering others to do ministry.
Outside of his ministry work, he enjoys playing hockey, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, fishing and many other outdoor activities.
Rev. Herman Robinson - Pastor Emeritus
Pastor Herman was the first pastor called to Parchment Valley Baptist Church, a church plant begun by Dr. Floyd Baker in 1988. Pastor Herman led the congregation for 23 years, retiring in December 2013.
Verona Sampson - Secretary
Verona has been serving as our secretary since 2015. She is in the office Wednesday through Friday from 9am-Noon. Verona works so hard behind the scenes to keep our church informed and organized. She maintains our church records and manages many of the church communications tools.
